Dec 15, 2025: Donations

Dear Friends

As we close out the year, we want to extend heartfelt thanks for everything you have done to support this community effort. Because of your involvement, the Township Planner recommended against the Highland Line pit proposal, and on December 9th, Council took a clear position to oppose it at the Ontario Land Tribunal.

We are now entering a very important stage of this process. At the Ontario Land Tribunal, concerns must be presented by experienced legal counsel and qualified expert witnesses. These witnesses are independent professionals who provide scientific and technical evidence on matters such as groundwater, wetlands, and community impacts. This expertise is essential to ensure that the full environmental and community concerns are clearly and credibly presented. While this work is costly, it is necessary, and it is something we cannot do without.

We will be focusing on major fundraising in 2026. However, through our partnership with Small Change Fund, supporters may make charitable donations before December 31 and receive a tax receipt for the 2025 tax year.

You can donate by visiting the link below:

Your generosity has carried us this far, and we are deeply grateful for your continued support. Together, we will protect what we cherish for future generations.

With sincere thanks,

Friends of Lanark Highlands
